Outfit #97 - Cold blood
Zobacz oryginał czw., 12/03/2015 - 10:11The base of a good appearance is wearing clothes that look good on us - it's not a surprising rule, but we often forget about it. Especially when we are trying to be trendy or when we see something fantastic on a mannequin. Throughout the years I was learning to choose clothes that look good on my figure. Like a teenager I was wearing strange things, repeatedly I've looked awful. Now when I'm looking at old photos I feel a mix of terror and laughter simultaneously! It was a strange time. Finally I master it.
One of my absolute hits is the mix of styling you're seeing here. A dress with ruching under bust and a lot of flounces perfectly fit with a non-perfect figure. Short jackets are my hit, too! Nature has endowed me a short trunk, so wearing a short jacket - optically, it becomes longer. And, what's important, it's comfortable. Of course this rule is effective only with dresses. With t-shirts and pants a blazer with a long front will be better. There are a lot of rules - as many as the diversity of figures. But one word we have to remember...
Forms. They define our appearance. We can have fun choosing perfect colors for our type of beauty (what is important, too!), but while we can't choose forms - we can't look good. Really important is to be brave in experiments, verifying ideas, that at first sight aren't okey. Example? For a long time I couldn't ascertain to wear short jackets. I didn't know: how? When I was trying them on with a t-shirt and leggings I was cutting myself at ungainly pieces. Actually I can't imagine my wardrobe without this styling.
The jacket you see I got it from Queen of Darkness. Its military character perfectly fits with heavy shoes. The dress makes a contrast - how you know, contrast I like so much how strange styling. The gentleness of the material and the girlishness of the flounces mixed with heavy elements makes my style.
And you, do you have any forms you love and you know that fit you very well? After all your experiments - what style was a jackpot for you and which one was a disaster?
