Hello!
You know that moment when you get the perfect pair of shoes, but it turns out that there are no your size? Or the color is wrong? Plus the price is so outrageously high? It's a real nightmare.
The solution? Online stores. Still tomany people it seems like a bad idea to buy shoes on the internet, although such purchaseshave many advantages. First of all, we save the time that we spend in shops searching for footwear. You can type what you search in the browser and instantly you will find a whole range of products. Secondly, you can find cheaper shoes or discount codes to use in the shop. We can also compare prices and use advanced searching option (including filters). Everyone is happy when the money are saved to spend on the other pleasures :) Third – buying imported shoes, which are not available in your country. I think that this may be tempting. Besides it's better to make a decision in the comfort of your home – without the pressure and unnecessary stress. We can always add an item to ,,wishlist” and wait a few days, before we finalize the purchase.
Many times I buy shoes online, with varioussuccess at the beginning, but over time I have developed a certain workflow and it made my choice an instanthit!
An example of good online store? Here you are :)
EscapeShoesis a shop from Portugal, which has in offer a lot of well-known brands, including Timberland, Birckenstock, UGG, Melissa... I recommend you to explore this site on you own, because it's not the main topic of this post.
1. Know your size
If you buy in online shop for the first time, you should know basic thing like the length of your foot. It seems trivial, but some people still don't remember that the sizes are unequal, so don't sugesst the fact that you usually pick one size, because the store may have custom sizes. There are models which are oversized/undersizedand to know what shoes will be good to you, you will need: piece of paper, pencil and a ruler.

You should put the foot flat on a piece of paper and mark where it ends or outline it whole. Then measure the distance from longest toe and end of the heel and voila! You already know the lenght of your insert / foot .
It's the easiest and fastest way. In online stores often with the shoe size is also given the length of the insert / sole. Knowing the length of foot you are able to determine what size it the best for you. When you hesitate, you should consider the size of 0,5 cm bigger, then you are sure, that the shoes will be not too small.

If you're still not sure, it's worth to check which size will be sugessted by counselors from the shop. There are even appropriate forms to send, where you enter what size you are interested in and get more information on your personal e-mail.
2. Pay attention to the construction of your feet
Another issue about which only few people remember. We all are not the same – look around you nearest surrounding and compare: who has a problem with choosing high-hells and why (high arc of the foot or bunion) or can't wear flats because feels in them incomfortable? Besides, there are number of feet diseases and vary length of the fingers. For example – I can't wear my mothers shoes, because she has a wider foot than me.

In addition to the lenght of the insert, you should also know certain characteristic features of your feet. You probably have your favourite shoes, which are the most comfortable and you shouldn't buy a beautiful high heels with spitz, because they are fashionable. Consider the anatomy of your feet! Earlier you can go to a stationary store and try similar pair of shoes and check if you are able to walk in it. Or put the shoe on foot. (again I refer to a high instep).

3. Meet the pictograms
You should know if the shoes are actually made of real leather or just with the ecological. A lot of people don't pay attention to the pictograms placed on label and after a year they are suprised that the exterior begins to peel or break.

Knowing the material from which the shoes are made, you can find the right cosmetics for their care and knowthe proper way of treating them. Cleaning fluids for leather are not suitable for ecological one.Suede also requires special care. Pasting from time to time would make shoes better looking. Get to know in advance the basic methods of care before you mess the shoes! Knowing the material, you can roughly determine if it's stiff or how the shoe is able to ,,disperse”.
or...
That's why it's so important to read the descriptions! Rather than just ,,material: textile”, you have clearly indication with what materials.
4. Know your rights as a customer
Before buying – read the rules. It's not made to make you bored, just show what rights you're / you have when conclude a transaction with the seller. As a standard in most stores you have 10 to 14 days to return the shoes without giving any reason (undamaged and unused!). In some cases, you can also rely on the guarantee, you should know how long it's valid. And you know how to act in case of complaint? No? Come back and read the rules ;) When you make conscious shopping, the key may be the option to return – easy procedure and low costs are a bargaining chip when you choose a trusted seller.

5. Other
If you have the opportunity to try on the dream shoes in stationary shop – do it! You can then compare sizes, see if they are comfortable and good-looking. In addition, you'll see how they look in real! And what is the color or is the material suitable for you. Only then you can make a final decision about buying new shoes ;)
