An Evening with John Legend

A few weeks ago I went to "An Evening with John Legend",
which was a combination of a inspirational speech,
 followed by questions from the audience and of course short concert! 
I have always loved his music,
but after hearing him singing live in a cozy auditorium at my University
I can easy say I'm obsessed now..
 He's  incredibly talented,
 and sang alone just playing on piano and still managed to sound even better live.
I also learned from his speech, that his way to fame took many different turns.
He worked for a few years as management consultant for the Boston Consulting Group
while trying to start music career.
 He said that every major recording label rejected his demo
and it took years before Word heard about him with a help of Kanye West.
Now he's a proud owner of 9 Grammy Awards.
He seems to be extremely passionate about the right for equal access to education
 for everybody in US, therefore he created a nonprofit organization
called The Show Me Campaign. It fights for educational reform in the US.
The main reason for his visit at FSU was to educate us about this organization
 and to explain many different ways on how each student can help or get involved!




Pod koniec stycznia milam okazje uczestniczyc w przemowieniu i koncercie Johna Legend.
Od dawna juz podziwiam jego muzyke,
ale po koncercie na zywo w przytulnym audytorium na moim uniwerku, jestem kompletnie zauroczona.
Nie ma wielu artystow, ktorzy potrafia stworzyc tak magiczna atmosfere jak on,
samemu spiewajac i grajac na pianinie- prawdziwy talent!
Przed koncertem opowiadal nam troche o swoim zyciu prywatnym i drodze do kariery muzycznej,
ktora o dziwo wcale nie byla taka prosta jak by sie wydawalo z takim glosem.
Mianowicie po ukonczeniu studiow pracowal jako konsultant zarzadzania
w firmie w Bostonie i w tym samym czasie probowal zaczac kariere w muzyce.
Ale jak sam powiedzial trwalo to dosc dlugo,
 gdyz na poczatku wszyscy go odsylali z gwizdkiem i dopiero zaineresowanie jego osoba
 przez Kanye West wplynelo na to ze swiat o nim uslyszal,
a na dzien dziesiejszy ma az 9 nagrod Grammy.
Jego nastepna czesc programu byla dla mnie nowoscia,
gdyz nie mialam pojecia jak bardzo jest on zaangazowany nad poprawa systemu edukacji w Stanach,
 tak aby byl dostepny jednakowo dla wszystkich bez wzgledu na kolor skory czy pochodzenie.
 Dlatego tez zalozyl organizacje charytatywna- The Show Me Campaign,
ktora walczy o nowa reforme edukacji.
 Jego zdaniem to wlasnie w rekach studentow jest moc,
 dlatego dokladnie nam tlumaczyl jak my mozemy byc aktywnie zaangażowani w tym celu.
